A Little Bit More About Psychotherapy...

feather
We all have emotional layers. Sometimes, it feels right to peel some of those layers back...

Wherever you are in life, there might be times when you feel stuck.  There might be a specific issue on your mind, or something niggling you that just doesn't feel quite right.  Psychotherapy can help you to navigate your way through these times, helping you to understand yourself better, work through feelings and emotions that may be holding you back, and help you grow and evolve with confidence.

Contact me for an informal chat about how Psychotherapy can help you move forwards, with no obligation to make an appointment.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

Everyone is different and their therapeutic journey will be unique to them.  It is impossible to put a number of sessions on that therapeutic journey.  My advice is come to one session, see how you feel and take it from there.

HOW LONG DOES EACH SESSION TAKE?

Your first session can take up to 90 minutes because I ask you lots of questions and we discuss your issue thoroughly in order to give you the best possible outcome for your needs. Subsequent sessions are bookable as 60 or 90 minute sessions, depending upon your needs.

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE MYSELF FOR MY SESSION?

Come with an open mind and be prepared to go with the flow. Wear comfortable clothing in order that you can relax easily in a chair. Caffeine is a stimulant, so avoiding it in the few hours leading up to your session might be beneficial. Avoid alcohol and recreational drugs prior to your session.

A NOTE ABOUT GDPR

In 2018, the rules in the UK about holding people's data changed. All of the information I take from you is confidential and I never pass on your details to a third party. The information I take is for the purpose of your treatment, and nothing else. I don't store anything electronically, and I write with pencil. Being as open and honest as you can will enable me to give you the best possible treatment I can.

WHAT ABOUT CONFIDENTIALITY?

Sometimes, it can be embarrassing or upsetting to discuss certain things. I understand that. All of the information I take from you is confidential. Everything you say to me during our sessions is confidential.
